Those of you that know me will probably agree, I need therapy but I was referring to the fab new DVD by Polkadoodles, Nicky Hall. I've watched it this weekend and then crafted along, pausing and rewinding where needed. I really think my colouring will improve over time with this tutorial DVD to fall back on.
I printed out a digi from Polkadoodles Candy Doodles CD Rom. Followed the skin tones & hair tutorial then kind of freestyled with the rest of the image. I then cut out the image using an xcut die and inked the edges. The backing paper I used is from another Polkadoodles CD (Pretty Tuff) I embossed some core donations card and tore & inked the sides added a bit of raffia, some buttons and a greeting. I'm quite pleased with the finished project.

Plumbers Birthday
I had a laugh making this card for my brothers 49th birthday later this month. The digi stamp came from my 'Just Inklined' CD Rom called 'The Next Big Thing'.
It's been coloured with pro markers with 'A Wink of Stella' for his undies! I matted and layered it all up onto an A4 card, inked the edges and cut out a spanner and some nuts from Polkadoodles 'Paper Boutique 3' on my Cameo.
I've just added the insert complete with the greeting 'At Your Age You Need To Keep An Eye On Your Plumbing!' hope he likes it ;-)

Me to You
I've had fun making this 50th birthday card for a friend. I even managed to convince myself to crack open the Hunkydory rainbow mirri board. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the decoupage layers added matching backing paper, card, ribbon & gemstones. Oh and not forgetting the bunting! A lot of people say CD crafting is not proper crafting but I disagree.

Emma Canning Digi
I so love this digi by the very talented Emma Canning that I decided to use it again if I feel brave enough I may even try to become part of the 'Flatfriends DT' as I love to colour in so much. I'd also like to enter this card into the Polkadoodles August Challenge.

Sugar Birdies CD
I love all of Nikky Halls (polka doodles) CD Roms there's no better place for inspiration when you find your mojo lacking. So I came up with this card yesterday. Hope you like.

Butterfly Wishes
You know these thoughts that hit you in the middle of the night? Well here are the results. I bought Barbara Grays' 'lesson 9' from C&C the other week but couldn't afford everything else to complete the lesson so have put my own spin on it. I used the petal stamps from the set for the purple & green card & flowers from artemio stamp set for the pink & blue.
I embossed the butterflies with white ink & clear embossing powder & picked out the matching colour PM to colour the wings. The cards were matted & layered up with embossed white card adding ink or gems to hi light then added the butterflies. Voila! Hope you like?

Happy Birthday Tom
Teenagers can be so difficult to accommodate when it comes to making cards. It has been known for me to purchase cards from a shop!
I've thought long and hard about my youngest son and decided Boofle would be perfect for him he's at college studying photography.
I've used straight edges as I think they look quite masculine but also tried to incorporate jaunty angles and texture with buttons, ribbon and string.
Comments as always are most welcome

Something A Bit Different
I'm not very experimental when it comes to colour so thought I'd have a play. I coloured my stamped image with promarkers mat & layered it onto some bright card stock. I added a punched border and some velvet orange ribbon a flower and edged it with some faux stitching.
I would like to enter this card into Emergency Crafters 'Bold & Bright' challenge.

Happy Birthday Hubby
I've thoroughly enjoyed making this card for my OH. I chose Boofle (surprise, surprise) I stamped him twice in espresso adirondack and coloured using my flexmarkers, cappuccino & sandstone. I then stamped the knitted effect stamp over the top using the espresso. I glittered the base layer heart & layered up (omitting the heart from the top layer).
I then inked the edge of my circular topper with Tim Holtz distress ink. Matted it onto a scalloped matching card stock.
I made an easel style card using papers from the Boofle range made a scalloped border and stuck on a few peel offs.
Hope the old boy likes it!

Boofle
Between trying to work out how to use Blogger more easily, nursing a poorly OH & cooking dinner I've managed to produce another Boofle card. I just love this little fella and so looking forward to the release of him on CD Rom in a couple of weeks!
Anyway onto my card.. I used various sheets from the Docrafts Boofle 6x6 backing papers. Stamped the image and coloured him in with flexmarkers. To get the knitted effect I stamped over the top using the Boofle urban stamp ~ I'm really pleased with the look. To finish I added a few flowers and a sentiment.

Sugar Plum Daisy
I'm really not sure about this card. It's my first effort from Nikky Halls fabulous new CD Rom entitled 'Sugar Plum Daisy' there are just so many cute images on it I didn't know where to start. So I found this mega cute li'l mousey and for some strange reason went against all my usual colour choices. I'm trying to be a little more adventurous in my crafting so just went with it and 'Hey Presto' here's the result. Your comments are appreciated.

Help!
Personally I blame Nikky Hall (of Polkadoodles fame) for this blog. I have no idea what I'm doing but with the help of a few friends I'm sure I'll soon get the hang of this blogging malarky. Its a way of me 'show casing' my handywork. I do hope you drop by again even if just to see if I posted again!
