London to Paris

Happy Friday everyone. I'm absolutely shattered today after a run yesterday, I thought it was a good idea to walk into town to see the Airshow and then walk home again. How wrong was I? Lol.

Well onwards and upwards as they say and I have no right to complain as one of my old footballing mates is off on an epic bike ride soon so I made him a card to wish him luck. You can read more about it on his just giving page HERE. In the meantime, here's the card.

The image, sentiment ticket and backing paper are from Work & Play 4, coloured with my prisma pencils and distress inked around the edge.

FFFFFFF..... Flowers

Last week for my Inky Pinky make (Etty Shy) I used a couple of flowers from one of the older Polkadoodle collections Back to Nature and went totally over the top with them to make this bright and vibrant card. Just adding glitter card stock and some odd gems, glitter and ribbon from my card stash. The sentiment is from Magic Garden which I printed on to some Safmat and then adhered it to some mirri board before placing in the centre of my larges flower.

Etty Shy

Happy Friday everyone. I've had a very busy week again both personally and craft wise. I'm really hoping things start to settle down soon.

This week for my Inky Pinkie creation I thought I'd try a different way of creating texture. Last week for Winston Heartfelt I used a flicking motion with my pencils. This time I used my Graph'it markers and created a fluffy fur texture on Etty Shy using dots. For those interested in colours used, 9400, 9401, 9402, 9403, 9404, 9405, 9406, 2160, 2180, 5255. the polkadots were created with a white sakura pen and the ears with a pink glitter pen. her nose, eyes and flower centres were glazed with glossy accents. The jazzy background was created using my Gansai Tambi watercolours & the flowers used are from the Back to Nature collection and the leaves are by memorybox.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I do love to read all of your lovely comments.

Adding Texture

I'm new to all this mixed media malarky and have an awful lot to learn but I thought for this weeks Polkadoodles make, I'd give it another go.

I bought myself an A4 canvas board from the £1shop and away I went. I'm not sure if you're supposed to plan these things or go with the flow? I ended up just looking round the house for things to add lol. The main thing was I had fun and I will definitely be doing it again.

The main focal point were the diasies which I coloured with my pencils on paper cut out and set to one side. I covered the board with iridescent gesso then added my acrylic paints, once that was dry I added more of the gesso thru a polkadot stencil (difficult to pic up in the picture I think) I used some background stamps, gemstones & die cuts to add lots of texture then stamped out my daisies on the board so I could see where to place them. I then adhered my coloured daisies on to my canvas,

In hindsight I think I should have gone for a smaller board as it was rather a large area to cover but thats how we grow isn't it?

Thanks so much for stopping by, please feel free to leave me a comment.

Winston Heartfelt

Morning all, once again real life has got in the way of my crafting so this week I've quickly whipped up this cute A6 card for my Inky Pinkies DT creation using Winston Heartfelt which I coloured with my Lyra Rembrandt pencils (083, 082, 080, 076, 075, 002, 093, 027, 028, 029) added glossy accents to his nose & eyes and finished by adding spectrum sparkle to the heart. The backing paper is from the Winston Deluxe full collection, I distressed it and inked the edges and adhered it to some embossed, pearlised card stock. I then added some lace, ribbon, sentiment and Winston (on foam pads) with a little pink blingy heart.
