Red, White & Blue

I love a bit of red, white & blue together and that is what the DT at Polkadoodles have been asked to work with this fortnight. I remembered seeing this fab distressed 'driftwood' effect backing paper on the Winnie Starfish & Sandcastles collection so used that as my inspiration then used one of the sentiments which I cut out using an oval die and inked through. I created my own decoupage by printing off four of the floral elements and just cutting bits away. They were then layered up and added to my card, With a pretty bow and gemstone to finish.

Winnie Starfish and Sandcastles

Polkadots at Polkadoodles!

The brief for the DT this fortnight is 'Polkadots' I created this cute little 5x5 inch card using Horace & Boo Big Kahuna Collection. I used papers, one of the design sheets & one of the sentiments. Inking everything up to make it look aged. I shaped the flowers and built them up to give dimension, adding gemstones to the centres.

Polkadoodles Horace & Boo Big Kahuna download collection

Festive Hollybobs

Polkadoodles is the sponsor over at Colour Crazy Craft Challenge and I thought as it has been so warm outside recently that we could all do with a bit of a cool down so I opted to work with  the Festive Hollybobs collection. The digi used is available on it's own HERE but I used the paper's from the collection too.

I laid down an initial base colour of Graph'it marker (4125, 8240, 5210, 1210, 9100) then used my Prisma pencils to add the shading (1001, 939, 927, 928, 1018, 988, 911, 910, 923, 924, 1033, 1032, 914, 1022, 1025) I think it makes the image look less 'flat'.

Here is the finished article. I've currently left it without a sentiment as I've not yet decided who will be the recipient. I will personalise it nearer the time.
